October 12, 20217 was a stunningly stressful day when I learned that one of my brothers was told he had a lung tumor and needed a PET scan or biopsy ASAP. It didn’t help that he, his wife and three kids ages 6, 2 and 1 were hundreds of miles away from me. They had no social support at least to help with baby sitting so his wife could drive him for a follow up. Compound that with the fact that they could not afford medical insurance.
I reached out to his wife and discussed with her the next steps and where to go for a follow up and how to apply for insurance. She welcomed the guidance but my brother was skeptical with any piece of advice that comes from family. I understand the inner turmoil he was silently going through. I relayed to her my thoughts. I believed that the haziness they thought was a tumor on the CT scan was just an infection. My spirit was convinced of what I said but my heart was not and I felt very burdened and disturbed.
Last night, restlessness kept sleep away from me. Then I prayed my heart to the Lord, seeking mercy for my brother. I needed to hear His answer as He promised in the Old Testament,
“Hosea 2:21-22
“It shall come to pass in that day
That I will answer,” says the Lord;
“I will answer the heavens,
And they shall answer the earth.
The earth shall answer
With grain,
With new wine,
And with oil;
They shall answer Jezreel.”
I asked that this supposed tumor be found as nothing, that my brother will live a healthy life and that he will live to see his children’s children. I asked that the light of the Lord’s truth shall break through this darkness and bring him and the family deliverance.
Today, heaven answered.
I checked up with his wife. She said they proceeded to a local hospital as I instructed and they explained his situation. He had no insurance and was recently discharged with orders for a PET scan for a lung tumor, etc, etc…
They were told the hospital will take him in and will rerun some tests, however they do not offer PET scan services. They will still admit him.
With the baby and toddler tagging along, she had to wait at the lobby while they took my brother in. That was at 9:20 am.
Five hours later, I received a message from her saying that his repeat chest X-ray was totally NEGATIVE, no tumor seen and all his blood work came back fine. They were sent home with good news.
God answered as He promised. He is so so good! Thank You Lord!
